His practice spans through three bodies of work: Fragmente des Lebens (2016–), The Fragrant Harbour (Hong Kong, 2017–2018), and Dear, (2012–). Together, the projects examine the shifting relationship between memory, place, and human presence while approaching a recurring question. Alongside his photographic expression, Nikolaev works internationally in design direction and conceptual development for global brand environments.
