Dimitar Nikolaev
”I’ve spent much of my life moving between cities, forming attachments, and leaving places behind. Photography has remained a constant throughout.
I photograph instinctively, often without knowing why something catches my attention. Looking back at images from years ago, I sometimes recognize feelings that weren’t obvious to me at the time.
Working predominantly with film, I’ve built an archive of people, places, and seemingly unrelated observations. What once felt like separate projects increasingly appears to be part of something continuous.
I’m interested in how our relationship with the past changes, and what photographs can reveal long after they were taken.
